Buttermilk Biscuits

  1. Heat oven to 400°F
  2. Cut butter into flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in medium bowl, using pastry blender, until mixture looks like fine crumbs.
  3. Stir in milk until dough leaves side of bowl (dough will be soft and sticky)
  4. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Kneed lightly 10 times. Roll or pat 1/2 inch thick. Cut with flowered 2 1/2-inch round cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart for crusty sides, touching for soft sides.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
