Buttermilk Biscuits
Ingredients
- 1 Stick Butter
- 2 Cups Flour
- I do 1 cup of white flour and 1 cup of whole wheat flour
- 3 Teaspoons Baking Powder
- ½ Teaspoon Salt
- ¾ Cup Milk
- With apple cider vinegar to make buttermilk
Instructions
- Heat oven to 400°F
- Cut butter into flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in medium bowl, using pastry blender, until mixture looks like fine crumbs.
- Stir in milk until dough leaves side of bowl (dough will be soft and sticky)
- Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Kneed lightly 10 times. Roll or pat 1/2 inch thick. Cut with flowered 2 1/2-inch round cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart for crusty sides, touching for soft sides.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
